Daoust led the Jeffs to a pair of road wins over New England College and Vassar, but his marquee performance came in a record-setting 118-111 triple-overtime loss to visiting Clark University on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Against the Cougars, Daoust finished with a career-high 39 points, shattering his previous career-best of 27, before fouling out with 18.1 seconds left in the second overtime. He also tied a school-record originally set by Jamal Wilson in 1997 with nine 3-pointers, finishing 9-for-12 from behind the arc in the longest and highest-scoring basketball game in Amherst history.
Daoust leads the 2-1 Jeffs and the NESCAC in scoring (23.7 ppg) and 3-point field goal percentage (.654) and is 10th in the conference in overall field goal percentage (.536). Daoust also led the Amherst football team to a 7-1 record and a share of the NESCAC championship this fall as a First-Team All-Conference defensive back.
The Amherst men's basketball team returns to action this Thursday at Babson College at 8 p.m.
