Briody and Sweeney Named to IWLCA All-America TeamsFrom an IWLCA Release May 30, 2007 AMHERST, MA – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named the members of the 2007 Division III All-America Team yesterday. After receiving All-Region First Team honors last week, Amherst College senior quad-captain Alyssa Briody (Hopewell, NJ) was named to the All-America First Team, while senior defender Emery Sweeney (Darien, CT) was named to the Third Team. Briody and Sweeney are among 16 players representing the highly-competitive NESCAC on this year’s All-America teams, including six who were named to the First Team. While Briody is one of six players to represent the attackers of the NESCAC, Sweeney is one of only three defenders representing the conference. The IWLCA and US Lacrosse have honored 48 student-athletes in Division III with a selection on one of the All-American teams. The IWLCA and US Lacrosse will honor the National All-Americans at an awards banquet on June 16, 2007 in King of Prussia, PA.
