Jeffs Finish 7th at 2007 Jack Leaman Championship

The 2007 Amherst College women's golf team finished in 7th place at this year's Jack Leaman Championship.

AMHERST, MA – The 2007 Jack Lehman Invitational women’s collegiate golf tournament wrapped up this afternoon on a sunny day at The Orchards in South Hadley, MA. Tournament co-hosts, Amherst College and Mt. Holyoke College shot 702 (7th place) and 732 (12th place), respectively. Boston College shot a tournament-best 633 to take the title, ousted Middlebury College and Williams College in the top three.

B.C.’s Katie Napleton shot an impressive 77-75-152 for the individual crown, edging Middlebury’s Heather Gallagher by just two strokes overall. Williams’ Anne O’Leary rounded out the top three individual finishes with a 78-80-158.

Boston College ran away with the titles as the school placed three more individuals in the top-6, including a pair tied for fourth.

Amherst’s top result came once again from senior captain Sarah Harper (Rochester, MN), who shot an impressive 82-81-163 to finish 8th as an individual.

Amherst returns to action next weekend at the Williams Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club.
