Stefanie Reiff Named NESCAC Co-Player of the Week

AMHERST, MA – Junior Stefanie Reiff (Hinsdale, IL) of the Amherst College women’s basketball team was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Co-Player of the Week after leading the Lord Jeffs to two victories this past week. Reiff is the first member of the women’s basketball team to receive the honor this season.
Reiff was dominant in Amherst’s 76-68 victory over Clark University, totaling 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and followed up with another solid all-around game in a 73-59 win over Skidmore College, totaling 18 points, five rebounds and eight assists.
Reiff currently leads her team in scoring (16.3 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg) and steals (1.5 spg), and is second in assists (4.0 apg), field goal percentage (.500) and free-throw percentage (.868). Of the eight games played this season, Reiff has led the Jeffs in scoring three times and shared the lead twice.
Amherst is riding a four-game winning streak after beginning the season 1-3, and returns to action tonight for a non-conference match-up with Smith College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Smith.
