April 18 - The Amherst College softball team struggled in the front end of a doubleheader with Smith College, losing 10-0 in just five innings. The Jeffs rebounded in the second game and used a four-run sixth inning to pick up a 5-4 victory. Full Story

Jeffs Cruise to Doubleheader Sweep of Brandeis
April 14 - The Amherst College softball team had no problems with Brandeis University, as the Lord Jeffs cruised to a pair of non-conference wins. The Amherst offense totaled 15 runs in the two games, while its pitching allowed a combined one run. Full Story

Amherst Drops Windy Match-Up Against Local Rival Westfield State, 5-2

The Cougars stole game one on seventh inning heroics from Heather Warren, as junior Sam Miller (Newton, MA) took a complete game loss on the mound. Amherst dropped the nightcap in eight innings, 9-8. March 21 - The Amherst College softball team continued its play in the Sun West Tournament in Orange County, CA with a pair of games on Tuesday. After dropping their first game to Dana College, the Jeffs took The College of St. Catherine into the eighth inning, where they manufactured the game-winning run to move their record to 2-2 on the young season. March 19 - The Amherst College softball team won their season opener this morning in impressive fashon, 8-0 in five innings over the College of St. Catherine, but fell in their afternoon game 13-0 in five innings to national powerhouse Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Full Story

Talented Rookie Class Adds Significant Depth to Already-Impressive Lord Jeff Squad
February 20 - Although this year's squad of 17 is larger than in the past, head coach Sue Everden likes how the team is deeper and faster and expects contributions to come from everyone. The younger players will be forced to play important roles, but Everden is excited to see what they can do in tough situations. Amherst has a challenging season ahead, but the Jeffs hope to return from California tougher and ready to charge for a NESCAC title. Full Preview
