Amherst Women Win First NESCAC Title October 28, 2006 NEW LONDON, CT –The Amherst College cross country program traveled to Connecticut College to compete in the NESCAC Championships Saturday afternoon. The men’s squad came out of the day with a third-place finish, as Williams College took the men’s crown. The Amherst women, though, took home the win and the program’s first conference title. Amherst won the women’s side with a score of 64, besting Tufts University by five points and Williams by six. Amherst junior Kim Partee (Brentwood, TN) led the Jeffs, and finished in sixth place individually, while juniors Heather Wilson (Danvers, MA) and Meg Ray (Menands, NY) each finished in the top fifteen. The Lord Jeff men’s half finished 144 points, behind Williams (30) and Bowdoin College (81). Amherst sophomore Harrison Lakehomer (Eugene, OR) was the only Jeff able to crack the top 15.
