Four Jeffs to Represent Amherst in NCAA Championship Tournaments
May 17, 2007
AMHERST, MA - The singles and doubles competitions in the 2007 NCAA Division III Tennis tournaments will feature four Amherst College players. The Lord Jeffs will be represented by Alicia Menezes (Staten Island, NY) and Brittany Berckes (Secaucus, NJ) on the women's side, while Zack Lerner (Scarsdale, NY) and Tal Avrahami (Riverdale, NY) will represent the men's team.
Berckes and Menezes will team up one last time this season, looking to continue the success they saw as Amherst's top doubles pair throughout the 2006-07 season. Menezes will have her work cut out for her, as she will also be participating in the singles portion of the tournament.
On the men's side, Avrahami and Lerner will take part in the doubles competition, while Lerner will also compete in the singles tournament. The two had originally been chosen as an alternate team, but were added to the field when another pair was forced to withdraw from the tournament.
Competition begins Friday, May 18. Click on the links below to follow all of the action, including a list of participants, schedule of events, live stats and tournament results.
