Garrahan Wins Third National Championship; Amherst Places Fourth at NCAA Championships
May 26 - Amherst senior tri-captain Shauneen Garrahan picked up an individual National Championship for the third time in three days, and led Amherst to a fourth place finish. Garrahan won the 10,000 meter, the 5,000 meter, and the steeplechase en route to being named the Most Outstanding Runner of the Meet. Full Story

Garrahan Wins 10k; Amherst in First Place After Day One of NCAA Championships
May 25 - Amherst College got off to a strong start at the 2007 Track and Field Championships, as senior tri-captain Shauneen Garrahan led her team with a first-place finish in the 10,000-Meter Run to place the Lord Jeffs atop the leader board after the first day of competition. Full Story

May 21 - Select members of the Amherst College outdoor track and field team traveled to MIT this past Friday for a final chance to post qualifying times for the NCAA Championships. Full Story

Amherst Competes in Open New Englands Over Weekend
May 14 - The men's and women's track and field teams competed against schools from Divisions I, II and III this past weekend at the Open New England Championships. The Amherst men's team placed tied for 24th, while the women's team finished 15th. Full Story

Jeffs Take Home Three Individual Victories at DIII New England Championships
May 5 - The Amherst College track and field teams continued their championship competition with a trip to the Division III New England Championships at Springfield College. The Amherst men placed 10th, while the women’s side finished fifth. Full Story  

Amherst Places Six Women, Two Men on All-NESCAC Team
May 3 - The NESCAC announced today the members of the 2007 All-Conference Team. Six members of the Amherst women's team and two members of the men's team earned All-Conference recognition, while senior tri-captain Shauneen Garrahan was one of two women named the NESCAC's Most Outstanding Female Performer at the conference championships. Women Place 5th at NESCAC Championships, Men Finish 9th
April 28 - The Amherst College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the 2007 NESCAC Championships this afternoon at Middlebury College. The Lord Jeff women placed 5th, while the men's team placed 9th. Full Story

Three Amherst Women Compete at Penn Relays
April 27 - Three members of the Amherst College women’s outdoor track and field team made the trip to the Penn Relays to compete in the distance event portion of the Relay Meet on Thursday. Full Story

Jeffs Host Mid-Week Invite

April 25 - The Amherst College outdoor track and field teams hosted a mid-week invitational on Tuesday, drawing athletes from Tufts University and Trinity and Keene State colleges. Amherst Competes at Little Three Championships
April 21 - The Amherst College track and field teams headed to Williams College for the Little Three Championships. The Amherst women placed behind the Ephs but ahead of Wesleyan University, while the men's side finished close behind second-place Wesleyan. Full Story

Jeffs Hold Their Own Against Division I Schools at UMASS
April 16 - The Amherst College track and field team competed at UMASS-Amherst this past weekend against seven Division I schools. Despite the tough competition, the Amherst women took home a trio of first-place finishes to place fifth overall as a team, while the Amherst men placed eighth. Full Story

Amherst Kicks Off Outdoor Season at Bantam Invite
April 4 - The Amherst College men’s and women’s track and field teams began their outdoor seasons with the Bantam Invitational at Trinity College this past weekend. Despite spending little time in preparation for the first meet, with some athletes using the Invite as a first practice session, the Lord Jeffs took advantage of the nice weather and posted some solid marks in their debut. Amherst Women Finish Tied for Seventh at NCAA Championships
March 10 - Select members of the Amherst College women's track and field team headed to Indiana this weekend for the NCAA Championships, with competition beginning Friday and concluding Saturday afternoon. The Lord Jeffs finished tied for seventh place with 23 points, with senior tri-captain Shauneen Garrahan leading her team with a trio of All-America honors. Full Story

Amherst Women Place Sixth at ECAC Championships
March 4 - The Amherst College track and field teams headed to Wesleyan University to compete in the ECAC Championships against schools from New England, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The women’s squad finished sixth overall, while the men’s side placed 36th. Full Story

Jeffs Run Another Successful Meet at Open New England Championships
February 26 - The Amherst College track and field teams traveled to Boston University to compete in the Open New England Championships on Friday and Saturday. The women were looking to ride their momentum from the Division III New England Championships the weekend before, while the men were looking to rebound from last weekend’s sub-par showing. Amherst Women Place Third at DIII New England Championships
February 19 - The Amherst College women's track and field team traveled to the University of Southern Maine to compete in the Division III New England Championships. The Jeffs finished just behind the runner-up spot with 93 points, the highest point total ever by an Amherst team. Full Story

Men's Squad Finishes 16th at DIII New England Championships
February 19 - With many team members battling illness, the Amherst College men's track and field team was unable to capture the results it was hoping for at the Division III New England Championships at Bates College, as the Jeffs placed 16th. Full Story

Amherst Successful at Valentine Classic in Boston
February 12 - The Amherst College track and field teams traveled to Boston University to compete in the Valentine Classic, with the men’s side running on Friday and the women’s side following on Saturday. The meet marked the final weekend of competition before the championship portion of the season gets underway. Full Story

Women Capture 4th Place at Tufts, Men Finish 7th
February 5 - The Amherst College track and field teams traveled to Tufts University for the third time this season to race against 13 teams. The Jeffs posted several personal records and championship qualifying times, as the men’s side finished seventh and the women’s squad placed fourth. Full Story

January 29 - With the majority of the Amherst College track and field team competing at Wesleyan University on Saturday, a select few women and men made a trip to Boston University to take part in the highly competitive Terrier Classic in search of fast times and great competition. Men Place Fourth at Tufts, Women Grab Runner-up Spot
January 20 - The Amherst College track teams traveled to Tufts University for the second time in as many Saturdays, this time for a scoring invitational against 16 other teams. While not focused on the scoring aspect of the meet, the women came away with a runner-up finish and the men grabbed 4th place. Full Story

Amherst Uses First Tufts Invite to Get Back on Track
January 13 - The Amherst College indoor track team returned to action for the first time since Dec. 2, as the Lord Jeffs participated in the first of three Tufts Invitationals. The meet was a non-scoring meet, and was viewed as more of a workout than as a competition, but Amherst still put in some notable performances. Full Story

Jeffs Open Season at Husky Carnival
December 2 - The Amherst College track teams opened their 2006-07 campaigns at the Husky Classic at the Reggie Lewis Track in Boston, Mass. While there were some athletes who entered the meet fresh from the cross country season, many of the sprinters used the event to measure where they stood before the bulk of the season begins in January.
