Manchester, NH - The host Hawks fell behind 3-0 in the first period and were never able to recover in the game. Sophomore Joel Covelli (Carlisle, ON) had a pair of goals for Amherst, with junior Rob Stevenson (Newton, MA) tallying in between at 8:32, just 14 seconds after Covelli's opening goal.

A power-play goal from Mike Nunzianto got the Hawks on the board at 7:28 of the second period, but junior Andrew Schremp (Denver, CO) returned the Jeffs’ lead to a three-goal advantage at 8:45.

The teams traded goals at the 18-minute mark of the third period, after the Hawks had pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Nick Sacca made it a 4-2 game with a marker at 18:32 before junior Kyle Schoppel (Cambridge, ON) added an empty-net goal from his own zone at 18:51.

Amherst goalie Josh Fillman made 35 saves to earn the game's number-one star. Jason Rafuse started in goal for the Hawks with four first-period saves, before Jason Zuck made eight stops in the final two frames.
