Jeffs Start with Strong Showing at Bowdoin Invite September 10, 2006 BRUNSWICK, ME – The Amherst College men’s golf team started its season on a confident note last weekend, placing ninth in a strong field at the Bowdoin Invitational. Hamilton College took first place, posting a 604 over the two-day stretch. NESCAC rival Williams College came away with sixth place on the weekend. The Jeffs, meanwhile, combined for a 645. Senior co-captain Andy Bruns (Eaton, OH) led the way for Amherst with a 78-81-159 performance. Classmate and fellow co-captain Sean Jules (Chicago, IL) followed up with an 81-81-162 final, matching sophomore Chris Valentine (Topsfield, MA) and first-year Adam Shniderman (Fort Lauderdale, FL). Valentine and Shniderman played to 80-82-162 and 82-80-162, respectively. Next, Amherst travels to Middlebury College Saturday and Sunday, for the Duke Nelson Invitational.
