Amherst Women's Squash Sweeps Smith

NORTHAMPTON, MA – The eleventh-ranked Amherst women's squash team swept host Smith College on Monday evening, 9-0, to pick up their third win of the season. Every Amherst player defeated her opponent in straight sets, the closest matches being a 9-2, 9-1, 9-5 win by sophomore Libby Martin (St. Louis, MO) over Smith’s Talia Williams and a 9-1, 9-5, 9-2 victory for Amherst senior Margo Nathan (Baltimore, MD) over Mary Opler. Senior co-captains Lauren Coape-Arnold (Scarsdale, NY) and Scotty Hanley (Sparks, MD) each allowed their opponents just a single point in the sweep.
Amherst improves to 3-1 while Smith falls to 0-6. The Jeffs return to action at 2 p.m. on January 11 at NESCAC rival Bowdoin College.
