Jeffs Crush Colby, 6-1 October 16, 2005 The Jeffs secured the doubles point behind the strong play of junior Lenny Lepner (Tartu, Estonia) and senior Jon Godsall (Toronto, Ontario) in the No. 1 match and senior Josh Rilla (Westboro, MA) and sophomore Austin Moller (Manhattan Beach, CA) in No. 2 play. Lepner and Godall topped first-year Brian Brown and sophomore Zach Schuman, 8-5, and Rilla and Moller bested senior Ben Crane and rookie Mather Neill, 8-2. Amherst took five of the six singles bouts, but the Mules didn't go quietly, forcing three-set decisions in three matches. Amherst sophomore Mike Mintz (New York, NY) defeated Crane in the No. 3 match, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, while Godsall topped junior Tom Gildersleeve at No. 5 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Brown secured the Mules only point of the day with a 5-7, 6-4, 11-9 victory over Rilla in the No. 1 match. Lepner, sophomore Jeffrey Wan (Staten Island, NY) and rookie Zach Lerner (Scarsdale, NY) each won in straight sets. Amherst 6 - Colby 1 DOUBLES RESULTS
