No. 21 Jeffs Post 5-1 Win Over Tufts

MEDFORD, MA – The 21st-ranked Amherst College men’s tennis team swept the doubles matches and won four of five singles to take a 5-1 decision at Tufts University on Monday afternoon. Amherst improves to 12-5, while the Jumbos fall to 4-7.

Amherst dominated from the start, easily taking each doubles match, 8-2. Senior co-captains Josh Rilla and Danny Babkes paired for a No. 1 doubles win and also claimed No. 1 and 2 singles victory. First-year Zach Lerner (Scarsdale, NY) was the Jeffs’ other double winner of the day, defeating Tufts’ Corey Keller, 6-1, 6-2, and combining with sophomore Tal Avrahami (Riverdale, NY) at No. 3 doubles.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Middlebury College.
