June 16 - Amherst senior Andrew Wilcox and junior Derek Cherney were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Men's Lacrosse All-Star team on Friday, while junior Alyssa Briody bolstered her postseason resume as well, adding women's lacrosse all-star honors. Jeffs Drop 15-9 Decision at Bowdoin
April 22 - Despite three goals apiece from rookie Brett Miller and sophomore Will Ferrer, the Amherst men’s lacrosse team lost its sixth straight decision on Saturday – a 15-9 loss at Bowdoin College. The Jeffs fell to 2-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play, while Bowdoin snapped a four-game losing streak of its own, improving to 8-4 (5-2 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Upended at Springfield, 15-7
April 20 - The Amherst men’s lacrosse team dropped a 15-7 non-conference tilt at local rival Springfield College on Thursday night, falling to 2-8 on the season. The host Pride did most of its damage in the second half, scoring 11 goals after the break to improve to 8-4 on the year. Full Story

April 1 - Amherst senior Sean Murray converted a feed from junior Derek Cherney as time expired to complete a 10-9 come-from-behind men's lacrosse victory over visiting NESCAC rival Colby College on a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon. March 21 - The Amherst men' lacrosse team earned its first win of the season on Tuesday, topping non-conference rival Eastern Connecticut State University in Orlando, Fla., 11-6. First-year netminder Matt Pietroforte was stellar in goal, grabbing 14 saves, while junior quad-captain Derek Cherney added four goals and two assists. Full Story

March 11 - The 11th-ranked Amherst men’s lacrosse team dropped its season- and NESCAC-opener at Bates College on Saturday afternoon, 13-6. Amherst's Altreche Wins 2006 NCAA Inspiration Award
December 14 - Amherst senior men's lacrosse goalie Raul Altreche will be awarded the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) 2006 Inspiration Award. The Inspiration Award, which is not automatically awarded annually, recognizes a current or former coach, administrator or varsity letter-winner at an NCAA institution who when confronted with a life-altering situation used perseverance, dedication and determination to overcome the event and now serves as a role model for others. Altreche Wins ECAC Award of Valor

July 20 - Amherst men's lacrosse goalie Raul Altreche has been named the lone NCAA Division III recipient of the 2005 ECAC Award of Valor, as announced by ECAC Commissioner Phil Buttafuoco on Wednesday. Established in 1985, the award honors one student-athlete representing ECAC schools in Divisions I, II and III whose courage, motivation and relentless determination serve as an inspiration to all, exemplifying strength of character, perseverance, and most importantly, accomplishment deserving recognition as being truly triumphant.
