Jeffs 17th at Season-Opening Duke Nelson Invitational

Middlebury, VT - The Amherst College men's golf team opened its season with a 17th-place finish at the 22nd annual Duke Nelson Invitational, hosted by Middlebury College over the weekend. The Jeffs shot a two-day score of 325-329-654, led by junior Sean Jules (Chicago, IL), who fired an 76-82-158 to tie for 53rd overall.

Amherst senior Andy Bruns (Eaton, OH) tied for 62nd with a two-day total of 82-78-160, while rookie Glenn Wong (Leverett, MA) tied for 89th with an 84-84-168. Senior Keith Zalaski (Simsbury, CT) and rookie Will Collins (Edina, MN) posted matching two-day totals of 169, shooting 84-85 and 83-86, respectively to tie for 92nd .

Williams College topped the field with a 294-304-598, led by individual medalist Matthew Slovitt, who fired a 73-70-143.

The Jeffs return to action next weekend at the Williams Invitational.
