Jeffs Tie For 13th at Lou Flumere Invitational

STOW, MA – The Amherst College men’s golf team finished in a tie for 13th-place at the 33rd Annual Lou Flumere Invitational, hosted by Bentley College at the Stow Acres Country Club in Stow, Mass. on Wednesday. Junior Andy Bruns (Eaton, OH) and rookie Chris Valentine (Topsfield, MA) paced the Jeffs with matching rounds of 79 to tie for 21st place.

Senior co-captains Keith Zalaski (Simsbury, CT) and David Litt (Bethesda, MD) rounded out the Amherst scoring, firing identical rounds of 89.

Salem State College won its second straight tournament with a team round of 302, topping Holy Cross by just four strokes. UMass Dartmouth’s Kyle Pelletier took individual medalist honors with a low round of 72.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at the Williams Spring Opener.
