Harmeling Reaches Holleran Cup Semifinals at CSA Women's Championships
March 7 - Amherst senior co-captain Ashley Harmeling reached the Holleran Cup semifinals at the College Squash Association (CSA) Women’s Championships, hosted by Dartmouth College over the weekend. Full Story

Jeffs 11th at Howe Cup Nationals
February 24 - The 11th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team finished 11th at the Howe Cup Nationals, hosted by Princeton University over the weekend. Playing in the Kurtz Cup for teams ranked ninth through 16th nationally, the Jeffs topped Colby College in the opening round, 7-2, fell to Cornell University in the semifinals, 9-0, and rebounded to edge St. Lawrence University, 5-4, to finish their season at 12-8. 11th-Ranked Jeffs Fall to Visiting Top-Ranked Yale
February 14 - The 11th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team fell to visiting Yale University on Monday night, 9-0. The top-ranked Bulldogs swept the Jeffs in every match as Amherst fell to 10-7. Full Story

11th-Ranked Jeffs Split at Little Three Championships
February 12 - The 11th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team (10-6) split matches at the Little Three Championships on Saturday, blanking visiting Wesleyan University 9-0, but falling to visiting Williams College 9-0. Full Story

11th-Ranked Jeffs Blank Mt. Holyoke
February 10 - The 11th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team blanked host Mt. Holyoke College 9-0 on Tuesday night, improving to 9-5. The Jeffs swept every individual match, the closest being a 9-5, 9-6, 9-2 win by first-year Di Kirkwood over Mt. Holyoke’s Sara Yoshino. Full Story

11th-Ranked Jeffs Down No. 16 St. Lawrence, Fall to No. 9 Bates at Trinity Invitational
February 7 - The 11th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team (8-5) downed 16th-ranked St. Lawrence University 8-1 but fell to No. 9 Bates College 7-2 at the Trinity Invitational over the weekend. Seniors Ashley Harmeling and Ali Gibbs were the lone Jeffs to win both their matches. Full Story

10th-Ranked Jeffs Top Vassar, Colby, Fall to No. 7 Princeton
January 31 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team topped visiting Vassar and Colby Colleges on Saturday, winning 9-0 and 6-3, respectively, but fell to third-ranked Princeton University on Sunday at Williams College. Full Story

10th-Ranked Jeffs Post Second Straight Shutout, Blank Wellesley, 9-0
January 28 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team posted its second consecutive shutout on Thursday night, blanking host Wellesley College 9-0. Senior Ali Gibbs, sophomore Abby Mantica and first-year Libby Martin all earned their third straight victories as the Jeffs improved to 5-3. Full Story

January 26 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team steamrolled visiting Smith College 9-0 on Tuesday. The Jeffs swept every match, snapping a three-match losing streak and improving to 4-3, while Smith fell to 3-11. Full Story

10th-Ranked Jeffs Fall at No. 11 Cornell
January 21 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team dropped to 3-3 with its third straight loss on Friday, a narrow 5-4 defeat at 11th-ranked Cornell University. Senior co-captains Ashley Harmeling and Ali Gibbs, rookie Libby Martin and sophomore Abby Mantica each posted match wins for the visiting Jeffs, who return to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. against visiting Smith College. January 19 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team was shut out at sixth-ranked Dartmouth College on Wednesday, 9-0. The Jeffs fall to 3-2 with their second straight loss, while Dartmouth improves to 2-3. Full Story

January 18 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to visiting seventh-ranked Brown University, 9-0. The visiting Bears earned their first win of the season, improving to 1-3, while Amherst fell to 3-1. Full Story

10th-Ranked Jeffs Stomp No. 19 Hamilton & No. 16 Middlebury in Amherst Invitational
January 15 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team remained undefeated with victories over 19th-ranked Hamilton College and 16th-ranked Middlebury College at the Amherst Invitational on Saturday. January 9 - Amherst senior co-captain Ali Gibbs and sophomore Emily O’Brien each earned first-round victories at the 2005 Women’s Squash Cummings Cup, held at the University Club of New York and the Yale Club over the weekend. Full Story

December 10 - The 10th-ranked Amherst women’s squash team opened its season with a convincing 8-1 win over visiting 14th-ranked Tufts University on Friday. Senior co-captains Ashley Harmeling and Ali Gibbs set the tone with a pair of convincing 3-0 wins. Junior Lauren Coape-Arnold, sophomores Caroline Shannon and Emily Zandy and first-year Libby Martin also posted impressive match wins for the Jeffs. Full Story
