Fifth-Seeded Jeffs Fall in NESCAC Quarterfinals at Hamilton
February 26 - The fifth-seeded Amherst women’s hockey team saw its season come to an end with a 6-1 NESCAC Tournament quarterfinal loss at fourth-seeded Hamilton College on Saturday. The Jeffs finish at 8-12-5, while Hamilton advances to next weekend’s conference semifinals, where they’ll face top-seeded host Bowdoin College. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Top-Ranked Elmira
February 18 - An upset-minded Amherst women’s hockey team took a 2-1 lead into the final period but came away with a hard-fought 5-2 non-league loss to the No. 1-ranked team in the nation, Elmira College, in a game played on neutral ice at Williams College on Friday night. The Jeffs close their regular season at 8-11-5 and await the start of the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, which kicks off next Saturday. Full Story

Jeffs Edged by St. Anselm, 1-0
February 16 - The Amherst women’s hockey team was edged by visiting non-conference foe St. Anselm College 1-0 in its final regular-season home game on Wednesday night. St. Anselm junior Danielle Campbell tallied the lone score as the Hawks improved to 17-3-1, while Amherst dropped to 8-10-5. Full Story

Simon Named NESCAC Co-Player of the Week
February 15 - Amherst sophomore defender Rachel Simon was named the NESCAC Women’s Hockey Co-Player of the Week after posting four goals and three assists in a 3-0 week for the Jeffs, highlighted by a hat trick in Saturday’s 4-1 win at Trinity College. Full Story

Simon Hat Trick Powers Jeffs Past Trinity
February 12 - After tallying a goal and two assists in a 4-2 conference win at Wesleyan University on Friday night, sophomore defender Rachel Simon notched her second career hat track on Saturday evening as the Amherst women’s hockey team wrapped up its NESCAC regular-season slate with a convincing 4-0 victory at Trinity College. Amherst (8-9-5/6-7-3 NESCAC) has now won three in a row and five of its last six and sits in fourth place in the conference standings. Full Story

Simon Leads Jeffs to 4-2 Victory at Wesleyan
February 11 - Amherst sophomore defender Rachel Simon tallied a goal and two assists en route to a 4-2 NESCAC women’s hockey victory at Wesleyan University on Friday night. Simon upped her team-leading scoring totals to seven goals and 17 assists as the Jeffs improved to 7-9-5 (5-7-3 NESCAC). Full Story

Sisti's Hat Trick Leads Jeffs Past Holy Cross, 5-4
February 9 - Junior Renee Sisti posted a hat trick on Wednesday night to lead the Amherst women’s hockey team to a 5-4 victory over visiting non-conference foe Holy Cross. The Jeffs improved to 6-9-5 with the win, while Holy Cross fell to 11-10. Full Story

Jeffs Suffer 4-3 Setback to Southern Maine
February 6 - The Amherst women’s hockey team held a 2-1 lead heading into the third period, but visiting non-conference opponent Southern Maine (USM) scored three goals over a span of 1:23 in the third period to skate to a 4-3 victory on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies got goals from four different players and first-year Katie Quartuccio tallied three assists en route to the win, as USM improved to 4-14-2, while Amherst fell to 5-9-5. Full Story

Jeffs Win Second Straight, Top Conn. College, 3-2
February 4 - The Amherst women’s hockey team posted its second consecutive victory on Friday night, topping NESCAC host Connecticut College, 3-2. Sophomore Tes Siarnacki and first-year Nat Khazzam each tallied a goal and an assist as the Jeffs improved to 5-8-5 overall and 4-7-3 in conference play. Full Story

Kelly Leads Jeffs to 4-3 Overtime Win at UMass Boston
February 1 - First-year Katharine Kelly lit the lamp just 35 seconds into overtime to give Amherst a 4-3 non-conference women’s hockey victory at UMass Boston on Tuesday night. Amherst improved to 4-8-5, while UMass Boston fell to 7-9. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Top-Ranked Middlebury, 5-0
January 29 - The Amherst women’s hockey team held visiting top-ranked NESCAC rival Middlebury College to just two goals in the first two periods, but relinquished a trio of scores in the final frame en route to a 5-0 loss on Saturday afternoon. Middlebury senior Lorna Gifis notched a pair of goals as the Panthers improved to 15-1-1 (11-0-1 NESCAC), while Amherst fell to 3-8-5 (3-7-3 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Blanked by No. 10 Williams, 2-0
January 28 - The Amherst women’s hockey team was shut out by visiting 10th-ranked NESCAC rival Williams College 2-0 on Friday night. Williams senior Annie Snodgrass tallied the game-winner 3:05 into the second period as the Ephs improved to 8-6-2 (6-3-2 NESCAC), while Amherst dropped to 3-7-5 (3-6-3 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Suffer 9-3 Setback at No. 7 Bowdoin
January 22 - The Amherst women’s hockey team suffered a 9-3 setback at seventh-ranked Bowdoin College on Saturday. Amherst sophomore forward Alena Harrison posted a goal and an assist and classmate Rachel Simon dished out a pair of assists as the Jeffs fell to 3-6-5 (3-5-3 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Post 0-0 Stalemate at Colby
January 21 - Amherst sophomore Lindsay Grabowski posted her first shutout of the season as the Jeffs played NESCAC host Colby College to a 0-0 women’s hockey stalemate on Friday night. Amherst moves to 3-5-5 (3-4-3 NESCAC) after tying the Mules for the second time this season. Full Story

Jeffs Skate to 2-2 Tie at No. 8 St. Thomas
January 17 - Amherst sophomore Rachel Simon tallied a goal and an assist, and junior Leah Kaplan also found the back of the net to lead the Amherst women's hockey team to a 2-2 tie at the eighth-ranked University of St. Thomas in Mendota Heights, Minn. on Monday. The Jeffs moved to 3-5-4 overall with the non-league stalemate. Full Story

Jeffs Bow at Augsburg, 3-2
January 15 - The Amherst women’s hockey team bowed at non-conference foe Augsburg College 3-2 on Saturday. Junior Renee Sisti notched both Amherst goals as the Jeffs fell to 3-5-3 with the loss. Full Story

Jeffs Crush Connecticut College, 5-1
January 11 - The Amherst women’s hockey team crushed visiting NESCAC foe Connecticut College 5-1 on Tuesday night. Amherst sophomore Tes Siarnacki scored a pair of goals and dished out an assist as the Jeffs improved to 3-4-3 (3-4-2 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Tie Visiting Colby, 2-2
January 8 - The Amherst women's hockey team rebounded from Friday night’s 4-1 home conference loss to sixth-ranked Bowdoin with a 2-2 tie against visiting NESCAC rival Colby College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomores Tes Siarnacki and Rachel Simon each scored for the Jeffs, who moved to 2-4-3 overall and 2-4-2 in conference play. Colby now stands at 3-3-1 (2-2-1 NESCAC). Full Story

Jeffs Fall to No. 6 Bowdoin, 4-1
January 7 - The Amherst women’s hockey team fell to visiting sixth-ranked NESCAC foe Bowdoin College on Friday night, 4-1. The visiting Polar Bears outshot the Jeffs 44-16 as Amherst fell to 2-4-2 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play, while Bowdoin improved to 6-3-1 (3-1 NESCAC). Full Story

December 12 - The Amherst women’s hockey team played visiting non-conference foe Utica College to a 3-3 overtime tie on Sunday. Junior Renee Sisti and sophomore Tes Siarnacki each had a goal and an assist, while sophomore Rachel Simon dished out two assists as the Jeffs moved to 2-3-2. Full Story

Jeffs Suffer 8-0 Loss at Williams
December 4 - The Amherst women’s hockey team suffered an 8-0 loss at NESCAC archrival Williams College on Saturday. The Jeffs fell to 2-3-1 (2-3-1 NESCAC), while the Ephs oushot the Jeffs 45-19 and improved to 4-3 overall and 4-2 in conference play. Full Story

Jeffs Blanked at Top-Ranked Middlebury
December 3 - The Amherst women’s hockey team fell to 2-2-1 (2-2-1 NESCAC) with a 4-0 conference loss at top-ranked NESCAC rival Middlebury College (6-0/5-0 NESCAC) on Friday night. Amherst rookie goalie Stacey Johnston tallied 34 saves in defeat. Full Story

Jeffs Split at Hamilton
November 28 - The Amherst women’s ice hockey team split a pair of games at NESCAC rival Hamilton College over the weekend, losing 3-1 on Saturday but rebounding on Sunday with a 6-4 come-from-behind victory. Junior forward Leah Kaplan had two goals and an assist in the win, while sophomore forward Tes Siarnacki notched a goal in each game and a pair of assists on Sunday. Amherst moved to 2-1-1 (2-1-1 NESCAC) on the season, while Hamilton improved to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Full Story

Johnston Leads Jeffs Past Wesleyan, 3-0
November 20 - Amherst first-year goalie Stacey Johnston nabbed 23 saves, posting a shutout in her first collegiate start, as the women’s ice hockey team blanked NESCAC rival Wesleyan University 3-0 on Saturday. Junior Renee Sisti and first-years Elizabeth Ditmore and Katharine Kelly each found the net as the Jeffs improved to 1-0-1 overall and in conference play, while the Cardinals dropped to 0-2-0 (0-2-0 NESCAC). Jeffs Open Season with 4-4 Overtime Tie Against Trinity
November 19 - The Amherst women’s ice hockey team opened its season with a 4-4 overtime tie with visiting NESCAC foe Trinity College on Friday night. Sophomore Rachel Simon led the Jeffs with two goals and an assist, including the game-tying score late in the third period, while Trinity junior Tara Borawski had a goal and an assist for the Bantams. New Era Continues for Women's Hockey
November 1 - Coming off its finest season, the Amherst women's hockey team, which set a school record with 13 victories in 2003-04, boasts a host of returnees and an excellent crop of newcomers. Second-year head coach Jim Plumer's Jeffs open their season on Friday, November 19, with a NESCAC home matchup against Trinity College. Full Story
