Amherst Trio Honored for Excellence in Academics, Athletics
July 19 - Recent Amherst graduates Ashley Harmeling and Carter Hamill were each named Second-Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), while rising junior Sarah Harper was tabbed an All-American Scholar by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Jeffs Sweep Williams, Claim Second at Spring Invitational
May 2 - The Amherst womenís golf team closed its regular-season spring slate with an outstanding weekend, sweeping Little Three rival Williams College 9-0 in a dual match on Saturday and following with a second-place showing at Williamsí Spring Invitational, played at Taconic Golf Course on Sunday. Senior co-captain Meg Sullivan led the way on Sunday, tying for medallist honors with a round of 80. Full Story

Jeffs Open Spring with Second-Place Showing at Mass. State Championships, Fifth at Northeast Championships
April 25 - The Amherst womenís golf team opened its spring slate with a second-place showing at the Massachusetts State Championships, hosted by Mt. Holyoke College at The Orchards Golf Course on Friday, and followed with a fifth-place finish at the Northeast Championships, also played at The Orchards, on Sunday. Sophomore Sarah Harper led the way, placing sixth and 12th individually. Full Story

Jeffs Finish Seventh at CCSU Invitational
October 11 - The Amherst womenís golf team concluded its fall schedule with a seventh-place finish at the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Invitational, played at Stanley Golf Course over the weekend. The Jeffs shot a two-day score of 342-356-698, led by sophomore Sarah Harper, who finished 11th overall, firing an 86-82-168. Full Story

Foran Leads Jeffs to Third-Place Finish at Wellesley Invitational
October 4 - Senior Emily Foran shot a two-day score of 81-79-160 to finish second overall and lead the Amherst womenís golf team to a third-place finish at the Wellesley Invitational, hosted by Wellesley College at the Nehoiden Golf Course over the weekend. The Jeffs shot a season-low 351-346-697, finishing just 11 strokes behind tournament champion Wellesley. Full Story

Jeffs Sixth at Mt. Holyoke Invitational
September 26 - The Amherst womenís golf team tied for sixth place with host Mt. Holyoke College at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational, played at the The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Massachusetts over the weekend. The Jeffs posted matching days of 355 for a total of 710, led by senior co-captain Meg Sullivanís 86-88-174. St. Johnís University took home the tournament title with a two-day score of 329-316-645, 30 strokes better than the second-place University of Hartford. Full Story

Jeffs Place 13th at Season-Opening Dartmouth Invitational
September 20 - The Amherst womenís golf team shot a two-day total of 349-356-705, good for 13th place at the Dartmouth Invitational at Hanover Country Club over the weekend. In a 20-team field the Jeffs faced mostly Division I competition and were the top placing Division III team overall. Senior co-captain Meg Sullivan shot a 79-87-166 to lead the Jeffs and tie for 23rd overall. Yale University won the tournament, shooting 320-309-629 and besting second-place St. Johnís University by 18 strokes. Full Story

New Coach, Trio of Seniors Look to Lead Women's Golf
September 8 - Interim head coach Jim Plumer and seniors Meg Sullivan, Emily Foran and Sarah Godwin lead a strong cast as the women's golf team looks to continue its tradition of excellence. The Jeffs open their fall slate Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Dartmouth Invitational. Full Story
