Mathur Finishes Second in Molloy Division Consolation at CSA Men's Championships

HANOVER, NH - Amherst College sophomore Auloke Mathur (Mumbai, India) reached the Molloy Division Consolation Championship match at the College Squash Association (CSA) Men’s Championships, hosted by Dartmouth College over the weekend.

Mathur, senior co-captain Gifford Sommerkamp (Bethesda, MD) and senior Michael Strong (Wayne, PA) all dropped their opening-round matches, but Mathur marched past Denison’s Max Laverty and George Washington’s Ben Hoefs in the consolation bracket, while Sommerkamp cruised to the consolation semifinals with 3-0 wins over Colby’s Trevor McWilliams and Columbia’s Nik Trikha. Mathur then advanced to the consolation finals with a 3-1 victory over Sommerkamp, but fell to Denison’s Ankur Gupta.

The Jeffs finished their season at 8-9 and placed 11th at the CSA Team Championships, held at Harvard University, February 25-27.
