14th-Ranked Jeffs Fall at No. 4 Penn, Blank Washington

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The 14th-ranked Amherst College menís squash team suffered its first loss of the season, 9-0, at the fourth-ranked University of Pennsylvania on Saturday morning, but rebounded to blank the University of Washington later that afternoon.

Senior Brian Lawrence (Concord, MA) was the lone Jeff to steal a game from the host Quakers, earning a 9-4 victory in the opener before falling 9-0, 9-1, 9-7. Amherst (3-1) was dominant throughout its second match, winning every game over Washington and surrendering no more than five games in any match.

Amherst returns to action on Tuesday at 3 p.m. against visiting 13th-ranked Brown University.
