No. 18 Jeffs Crush Clarkson, 15-6

ORLANDO, FL - The 18th-ranked Amherst College menís lacrosse team tallied five first-period goals en route to a 15-6 victory over non-conference foe Clarkson University in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday. Senior Alex Casertano (Millbrook, NY) racked up four goals and an assist, while sophomore Derek Cherney (Chappaqua, NY) added two goals and dished out four assists as the Jeffs improved to 2-0.

Senior tri-captain Colby Griffith (Lexington, MA) and junior Kevin Boova (Summit, NJ) bolstered the Amherst attack with two goals apiece, and rookie midfielder T.J. Jackson (Worcester, PA) notched his first collegiate score. Also finding the net for the Jeffs were seniors Andrew Syfu (Hobart, IN) and Josh Cherney (Chappaqua, NY), junior Sean Murray (Madison, NJ) and sophomore Chris Hofmann (New Canaan, CT). Junior midfielder Ben Lavely (Louisville, KY) and first-year Will Ferrer (Greenwich, CT) each dealt an assist.

Amherst returns to action next Wednesday at 4 p.m. against visiting non-conference opponent Endicott College.
