Amherst's Kretzman Adds to List of Postseason Awards

AMHERST, MA - Amherst College senior co-captain Beau Kretzman (Edina, MN) added to his distinguished list of postseason accolades on Tuesday, earning ECAC East/NESCAC All-Star honors from the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA).

Having already earned AHCA Second-Team All-America and First-Team All-NESCAC plaudits this season, Kretzman wrapped up his senior year among the conference and/or national leaders in a variety of statistical categories, including points (39), goals (15), assists (24), short-handed points (4), power-play points (14) and power-play goals (5). He graduates as the programís fifth all-time leading scorer with 143 career points on 72 goals and 71 assists.

Kretzman grabbed all-conference honors in each of his four seasons, taking home first-team honors as a sophomore and second-team recognition as a junior and first-year. He was also named the 2001-02 NESCAC Rookie of the Year.

He and the other 11 members of the all-star squad will be honored at the annual NEHWA Banquet next Wednesday, April 13, at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts. For additional information contact John Gruppo of the Northeastern University ticket office at 617-373-4458.
