MANCHESTER, NH - Senior co-captain Beau Kretzman (Edina, MN) netted his fourth career hat trick on Friday night, guiding the Amherst College men’s hockey team to an 8-2 victory at ECAC East rival St. Anselm College. Despite being outshot 43-25, the Jeffs improved to 10-5-2 overall and 8-2-2 in conference play.

Amherst went on to score three more in the frame, finishing the period with five goals on just 10 shots. Junior Steve Nelson (Wayzata, MN) and sophomores Trevor Calamel (Lockport, NY) and Erik Lund (Edina, MN) found the net as well to give Amherst a 6-0 cushion heading into the third.

Seniors Roy Mabrey (Needham, MA) and Scott Aldrich (Wilmington, MA) capped the Jeffs’ scoring with third-period goals, while the Amherst defense managed to hold the host Hawks scoreless until the 17:43-mark of the final frame.
