Jeffs 29th at NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, MA - In its final tournament of the fall campaign, the Amherst College menís golf team, paced by sophomore Sean Jules (Chicago, IL) and junior Keith Zalaski (Simsbury, CT), tied Salem State College for 29th place out of 46 schools with a team total of 336-331-667 at the 70th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships, held at the Captains golf course in Brewster, Massachusetts on Monday and Tuesday.

Jules posted a two-day score of 79-81-160 to grab 52nd place, while Zalaski shot an 82-80-162, earning 66th. Senior captain Justin Sharaf (Danvers, MA) finished 90th with an 84-81-165, while classmate Gifford Sommerkamp (Bethesda, MD) shot a 91-89-180 and sophomore Andrew Bruns (Eaton, OH) posted a 96-91-187 to round out Amherstís scoring.

The University of Connecticut captured the team title with a 293-313-606, besting second place Bryant College and the University of Rhode Island by just four strokes.
