Jeffs Sixth at Bryant Invitational

RICHMOND, RI - The Amherst College women’s golf team tied for sixth place with a two-day total of 349-347-696 at the Bryant Invitational hosted by Bryant University at Beaver River Country Club on Sunday and Monday. Senior Kathryn Kuchefski shot a team-low 82-83-165 to finish 14th and pace the Jeffs.
Junior Emily Foran followed Kuchefski with an 88-87-175, good for 27th place, and first-year Sarah Harper finished with matching rounds of 88 for a two-day score of 176 and 29th place. Junior captain Meg Sullivan and sophomore Melissa Sidman rounded out the scoring for the Jeffs with a 91-89-180 and 110-103-213, respectively.
Ivy League rivals Dartmouth College and Columbia University fought for the overall crown. Dartmouth bested Columbia by nine strokes with an overall score of 640. However, Columbia’s Alana Johnson won the individual title with a score of 73-78-151.
Amherst returns to action Saturday at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational.
