Scribner Named Second-Team All-NESCAC

AMHERST, MA - Amherst College softball standout Gina Scribner (Star, ID/Eagle) was named Second-Team All-NESCAC on Thursday, as selected by the conference’s head coaches. Scribner, a senior second baseman, batted .268 on the year and led the Jeffs with 15 RBIs.

Scribner was the conference’s Co-Rookie of the Year as a first-year, batting .324 with 33 hits, 16 runs and 14 RBIs in a team-high 102 at bats, and was a Second-Team All-NESCAC pick as a sophomore, upping her average to .406 with 18 RBIs, 10 doubles and two home runs - all team-highs.

Despite sitting out her junior season, Scriber finishes her Amherst tenure as a .335 career hitter with 94 hits, 42 runs, 16 doubles and 47 RBIs in 89 career games.

Amherst finished its season at 13-14 (4-4 NESCAC West), narrowly missing out on a berth in the four-team NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament.
