11th-Ranked Jeffs Earn Narrow 5-4 Win Over No. 13 Hobart

AMHERST, MA - The 11th-ranked Amherst College menís squash team earned a narrow 5-4 win over visiting 13th-ranked Hobart College on Sunday. Amherst junior Michael Strong (Wayne, PA) downed Statesman first-year Prateek Patni (Indore, M.P. India) in the No. 2 match 9-6, 3-9, 9-4, 9-6, and Amherst sophomore Nick Haslett (Bryn Mawr, PA) upended junior Andrew Scott (Dorset, VT) in the No. 4 match 9-2, 10-8, 9-6. Also earning victories for the Jeffs were senior co-captain Asad Haque (Richmond Hill, Ontario), junior co-captain Brian Lawrence (Concord, MA) and first-year Stuart Landesberg (Katonah, NY). Amherst improved to 2-4 with the victory, while Hobart fell to 9-5.

The Jeffs return to action Saturday, hosting St. Lawrence University at 10 a.m. and Vassar College at 2 p.m.
