Jeffs Place 18 on NFHCA National Academic Squad
February 25 - Eighteen of the 22 players on the Amherst field hockey team, including senior co-captains Christine Ryan and Molly Jacobs, were named to the 2003 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad on Tuesday. Student-athletes selected were nominated by their respective coaching staffs after achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale) through the fall 2003-04 semester. Full Story

Ryan Named Third-Team STX/NFHCA All-America
November 24 - Amherst senior co-captain Christine Ryan was named Third-Team STX Division III All-America by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Monday. Ryan, a First-Team STX/NFHCA Division III All-New England West Region and Second-Team All-NESCAC pick in 2003, finished the season sixth in the conference in assists per game (0.50) and tied for 15th in points per game (1.13). November 17 - Amherst senior captains Christine Ryan and Molly Jacobs and sophomore midfielder Katherine Skrivan were named STX Division III All-New England West Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Monday. November 13 - Amherst senior co-captains Molly Jacobs and Christine Ryan were each named to the 2003 NESCAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team on Thursday. Jacobs, a first-team selection, paced the Jeffs with six defensive saves, while Ryan, a second-team pick for the second straight season, led the team with 18 points on five goals and eight assists. Fourth-Seeded Jeffs Blanked by Top-Seeded Host Middlebury, 3-0, in NESCAC Semifinals
November 8 - The fourth-seeded Amherst field hockey team was shut out by top-seeded Middlebury College, 3-0, in the NESCAC Postseason Tournament Semifinals, held at Middlebury College on Saturday. The host Panthers, undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the nation, used two first-half goals from senior Char Glessner en route to their 15th win of the season. Amherst junior goalkeeper K.C. Jeffs Ready for NESCAC Semifinals
November 5 - The fourth-seeded Amherst field hockey team is set to face top-seeded host Middlebury College in the semifinals of the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The winner moves on to the NESCAC Championship game, held at Middlebury Sunday at Noon, with an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament at stake. The Jeffs, ranked 17th in the nation at 11-4, advanced to the semifinals with a narrow 1-0 victory over visiting Colby College in the NESCAC Quarterfinals last Sunday. Full Story
Fourth-Seeded Jeffs Edge Fifth-Seeded Colby in NESCAC Tourney
November 2 - The fourth-seeded Amherst field hockey team edged visiting fifth-seeded Colby College, 1-0, in the first round of the NESCAC Postseason Tournament on Sunday. Amherst junior Erin Leydon found the cage with 7:13 remaining in regulation, and fellow junior K.C. Cosentino posted her fourth shutout of the season in the win. The Jeffs improved to 11-4 and advance to the conference semifinals, where they’ll face top-seeded host Middlebury College next Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Full Story
No. 18 Jeffs Finish Regular Season With 5-2 Win Over Trinity
November 1 - The 18th-ranked Amherst field hockey team finished its regular season at 10-4 overall (6-3 NESCAC) with a 5-2 win over visiting NESCAC rival Trinity College on Saturday. With the victory, Amherst earns the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament. The Jeffs open tournament play tomorrow at 1 p.m. against visiting No. 5 seed Colby College. Full Story
