Jeffs Bow to Second-Ranked Harvard

AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College women’s squash team played its second Ivy League opponent in as many days on Monday and came away with its second straight loss, falling to visiting second-ranked Harvard University 9-0. The Jeffs also lost to fourth-ranked Princeton University on Sunday.

Harvard swept eight of Monday’s nine matches by 3-0 scores. Amherst No. 4 Liz Martin (Baltimore, MD) put up a valiant effort for the Jeffs, falling to Harvard sophomore Laura Delano in five games (7-9, 8-10, 9-2, 9-5, 9-3).

Amherst, ranked 11th in the latest College Squash Association National Poll, fell to 11-7 with the loss and returns to action Wednesday at 7 p.m. against yet another Ivy League opponent, visiting third-ranked Yale University.
