Amherst Trio Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll
June 18 - Amherst senior defender Molly O’Connor, senior All-American goalie Brooke Diamond and junior All-American midfielder Liz Martin were each named to the 2003 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Academic Honor Roll this week, awarded annually to juniors or seniors with a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. Diamond Cleans Up at IWLCA All-America Banquet
June 9 - Amherst senior tri-captain Brooke Diamond was named both the Division III Ensign C. Markland Kelly Goaltender of the Year and the Division III Scholar Athlete of the Year at the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America Banquet in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday. Yet More Postseason Honors for Amherst Women's Lacrosse
June 4 - Postseason accolades continue to roll in for head coach Christine Paradis and the national champion Amherst women’s lacrosse team. Already tabbed the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division III Coach of the Year, Paradis was named both New England and National coach of the Year by the IWLCA, and Division III Coach of the Year by WomensLacrosse.com, on Wednesday. The Jeffs dominated the WomensLacrosse.com All-America team as well, with first-team selections Brooke Diamond, Annie Jamieson, Liz Martin and Abby Ouimet, third-team pick Mary Kate Allen and All-Rookie honoree Scotty Hanley. Martin was also named the WomensLacrosse.com Midfielder of the Year. Full Story

Amherst Places Three on ECAC Men's & Women's Lacrosse All-Star Teams
June 2 - Amherst College women’s lacrosse standouts Abby Ouimet and Liz Martin and men’s lacrosse rookie midfielder Andrew Wilcox were each named Division III New England All-Stars by the ECAC this week. Martin, a junior midfielder, and Ouimet, a senior attacker, were both first-team selections after leading the Jeffs to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Championship. Wilcox, a Second-Team All-ECAC pick, made an immediate splash in the midfield, pacing the Jeffs with 61 ground balls and earning First-Team All-NESCAC honors. Full Story

National Champion Jeffs Dominate Warrior/Inside Lacrosse & IWLCA/US Lacrosse Division III Postseason Awards
May 27 - A dream season continues for the national champion Amherst College women’s lacrosse team, which placed four players on both the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse and IWLCA/US Lacrosse Division III All-America Teams. Seniors Brooke Diamond, Annie Jamieson and Abby Ouimet and junior Liz Martin were named First-Team selections by both organizations. Diamond and Martin also earned Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division III Goaltender and Midfielder of the Year honors, respectively, while ninth-year head coach Christine Paradis was named the Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division III Coach of the Year. Jeffs Place Six on IWLCA All-New England Team;
Ouimet, Allen Headed for Senior All-Star Game

May 20 - After ending Middlebury College’s 51-game winning streak with an 11-9 victory in Sunday’s NCAA Division III National Championship game, the Amherst women’s lacrosse team placed six players on the IWLCA All-New England Team. Seniors Abby Ouimet and Mary Kate Allen were among five first-team selections from Amherst. Both have also been selected to play in the Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game on Saturday June 7, at Loyola College in Baltimore. Full Story

Jeffs Capture NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Title with 11-9 Win Over Middlebury
May 18 - Liz Martin scored six goals, including four in the final 11 minutes of play, to lead Amherst to its first-ever NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship, dethroning two-time defending champion Middlebury College 11-9 at St. John Fisher College’s Growney Stadium on Sunday. Full Story

Third-Ranked Women's Lacrosse Upends the College of New Jersey in NCAA Semifinals, 12-10;
Jeffs to Face Top-Ranked Middlebury for National Championship

May 17 - The third-ranked Amherst women's lacrosse team rebounded from an early 3-0 deficit to upend The College of New Jersey 12-10 in the semifinals of the NCAA Championship Tournament, hosted by St. John Fisher College, on Saturday. With the win, Amherst (17-2) advances to the national title game for the third time in the last five years, where they’ll face top-ranked Middlebury College, which routed Williams Smith College 20-4 in Saturday’s second national semifinal. Schifter Named National Player of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com
May 14 - Amherst senior attacker Laura Schifter was named the NCAA Division III Player of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com on Wednesday. Schifter dished out a combined eight assists in respective 20-9 and 12-5 NCAA Regional victories over SUNY Cortland and Gettysburg College, sending third-ranked Amherst to its third straight and fourth overall trip to the NCAA Final Four.
