    Head Coach Kay Cowperthwait enters her sixth season at Amherst after leading the Jeffs to their first-ever postseason playoff berth in 2001-02. Before arriving at Amherst, Cowperthwait spent five years as the head women's lacrosse coach at Division I Stanford University. As an undergrad at NESCAC rival Colby College, Cowperthwait was a standout two-sport athlete, captaining the women's ice hockey and lacrosse teams and twice earning team MVP honors in both sports before graduating in 1991. She was also a First-Team All-ECAC selection in ice hockey as a senior. In the off-season, Cowperthwait serves as Amherst's assistant women's golf coach and helped lead the jeffs to a third-place finish in last spring's Division III National Championship Tournament. She is also a former assistant women's lacrosse coach.

Emma DeSimone enters her first season as an Amherst womenís hockey assistant while pursuing a masterís degree in homeland security through the American Military University. She was a First-Team All-American goaltender at Little Three rival Wesleyan University and graduated in 2001 with 18 career shutouts to her credit. She also earned the Suki Hoagland Award, presented annually to the top contributor to Wesleyan womenís athletics. DeSimone spent last year as an assistant softball and womenís hockey coach at NESCAC foe Hamilton College.
