2003 Amherst Softball Milestones


  • Finished with a 12-15 overall record, 4-4 in NESCAC West Division Play, narrowly missing out on a berth in their third consecutive NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament.
  • Led the NESCAC in sac bunts (32), second in team pitching (2.09 ERA) and second in sac flies (4).

  • NESCAC Spring All-Academic.
  • Tied for the NESCAC lead in sac flies (2).

  • First-Year Pitcher Miya Warner (Berkeley, CA)
  • First-Team All-NESCAC.
  • Third-Team Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-New England.
  • Sixteenth in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (7.7).
  • Led the NESCAC in wins (12-12), innings pitched (164.2), strikeouts (181), batters struck out looking (53), appearances (26), games started (22), shutouts (4), complete games (22) and opponent batting average (.207). Finished second in individual pitching (1.66 ERA).
  • Named the NESCAC Player of the Week for the period ending March 30 after tossing a pair of complete game victories in a doubleheader sweep over Hamilton and pitching her first career no-hitter - a seven-strikeout gem - in a 3-0 win over Clark.

  • First-Year First Baseman Laura Trigeiro (Reston, VA)
  • Eighth in the NESCAC in both individual batting (.386) and on-base percentage (.452), ninth in putouts (126).

  • First-Year Outfielder Rachel Hoerger (Oakland, CA)
  • Sixth in the NESCAC in walks (10).

  • First-Year Catcher Kate Raddock (Stamford, CT)
  • Tied for fourth in the NESCAC in times hit by pitch (3) and fourth in both total chances (224) and putouts (209).

  • Assistant Coach Luke Flockerzi
  • Named a winner of the Second-Annual AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year Award, as chosen by Scholastic Coach & Athletic Director Magazine.
