Warner, Trigeiro Earn Postseason Awards
May 9 - Amherst first-year softball players Miya Warner and Laura Trigeiro were named all-league by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on Friday. Warner was also tabbed Third-Team Louisville Slugger Division III All-New England by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Full Story

Jeffs End Season with Pair of Losses to Springfield
April 30 - The Amherst softball team ended its season at 12-15 overall, dropping both games of a doubleheader to visiting non-league foe Springfield College, 7-1 and 7-1. It marked the final games for Jeff senior co-captains Missy Mordy and Emily Melia, and senior right fielder Tamara Baer. Full Story

Jeffs Blanked at Mt. Holyoke; Warner Tosses Four-Hitter in Defeat
April 28 - Rookie hurler Miya Warner scattered four hits and struck out eight but fell victim to an unearned run in the second inning as the Amherst softball team fell at non-league foe Mt. Holyoke College 1-0 on Monday. After striking out the side in the first, Warner gave up a one-out walk in the second. An infield error two batters later brought home the gameís only run. Full Story

Jeffs Swept at West Division Foe Williams, 3-2 and 3-0
April 25 - The Amherst softball team put forth a valiant effort but dropped both ends of a crucial NESCAC West Division doubleheader at Williams College on Friday, falling 3-2 and 3-0. The games were originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon but moved to Friday due to the threat of inclement weather. Full Story

Flockerzi Named AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year by Scholastic Coach & Athletic Director Magazine
April 22 - Amherst menís basketball and softball assistant Luke Flockerzi has been named a winner of the Second-Annual AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year Award, as chosen by Scholastic Coach & Athletic Director Magazine. Flockerzi was selected from a field of more than 350,000 assistant coaches across the nation and is the only collegiate winner from the state of Massachusetts. Selections were based on nominations from head coaches, athletics administrators and past and current student-athletes. Full Story

Jeffs Drop Key West Division Twinbill at Middlebury
April 21 - With the top spot in the NESCAC West Division standings at stake, the Amherst softball team dropped a crucial conference doubleheader at Middlebury College on Saturday, losing 2-1 in the opener and 2-0 in the nightcap. Amherst rookie Miya Warner struck out 10 and surrendered just four runs while pitching a pair of complete games, but took both losses to fall to 12-7. Full Story

Jeffs Split Doubleheader with Westfield State
April 16 - After splitting a twinbill against visiting Trinity College on Saturday, the Amherst softball team split another doubleheader, this time against non-league foe Westfield State College. The Jeffs rallied to win Game 1, 7-6, in extra innings, while the Owls rebounded to take Game 2, 1-0. Full Story

Jeffs Split Non-League Twinbill with Trinity
April 12 - The Amherst softball team split a non-league doubleheader with visiting Trinity College on Saturday, winning the opener 6-2 before dropping the nightcap by the same score, 6-2. The loss in game two snapped a five-game winning streak for the Jeffs, who moved to 11-7. Trinity is now 4-13-1. Full Story
