Valdesolo Advances to Men's "B" Division Quarterfinals at College Squash Association Individual Championships

HARTFORD, CT - Amherst College senior co-captain Carlo Valdesolo (Andover, MA) won a pair of matches and advanced to the Men’s “B” Division quarterfinals at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships, hosted by Trinity College, over the weekend.

Valdesolo blanked Angel Magana 9-2, 9-0, 9-5 in the round of 32 and upended David Haile 9-3, 7-9, 9-5, 9-0 in the round of 16, but was eliminated by Tejvir Rathore 10-9, 9-4, 1-9, 10-8 in the quarterfinals. Rathore eventually fell to Gaurav Yadav in the championship match.

The CSA Singles Tournament was the final event on Amherst’s 2002-03 slate. The Jeffs finished the season at 9-8, including a pair of wins over Bowdoin and Hobart at the CSA Team Championships, held the previous weekend at Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania.
