Donohue, Allison Named NEILA Division III All-Stars

May 19, 2003

AMHERST, MA - After leading the Jeffs to a 10-5 overall record and the No. 4 seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, Amherst College menís lacrosse players Greg Donohue (Bow, NH) and Mike Allison (W. Nyack, NY) were named Division III All-Stars by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA).

Donohue, a sophomore defenseman, was a Second-Team NEILA All-Star, anchoring a defense that limited opponents to an 8.10 goals against average, which was the third lowest mark in the conference. Thanks in large part to Donohue, the Jeffs outscored opponents 163 to 122 on the season, and held them to nine goals or less in 11 out of 15 games. Donohue was also a Second-Team All-NESCAC selection.

Allison earned Honorable Mention NEILA All-Star honors after finishing 20th in the NESCAC in scoring at 1.73 points per game and 14th in the conference in goals per game at 1.73. The junior attackman was voted the NESCAC Player of the Week on April 22, with seven goals and an assist in a pair of conference wins over Tufts University and Bowdoin College, and was a First-Team All-NESCAC selection.
