Kretzman, DiNardo Honored at New England Hockey Writers Banquet
April 17 - Amherst menís hockey sophomore Beau Kretzman and senior Erik DiNardo were honored at the New England Hockey Writers Banquet at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass., on Wednesday night. Kretzman was recognized as an ECAC East/NESCAC All-Star for the second consecutive season, while DiNardo was presented the Thomas Lawler Award by the Eastern Mass. Hockey Officials Association, which recognizes the player from NCAA Division II or III who best combines heart, ability and sportsmanship. Full Story

Kretzman Named First-Team All-NESCAC
March 6 - Amherst College menís hockey sophomore Beau Kretzman was named First-Team All-NESCAC on Thursday, as selected by the conferenceís head coaches. Kretzman, a second-team pick and the conference Rookie of the Year as a freshman, led the Jeffs and finished among NESCAC and NCAA leaders in nearly every offensive statistical category, including goals (19), assists (14), points (33), power-play goals (5) and power-play points (10). Sixth-Seeded Jeffs End Season With 11-0 Loss at Third-Seeded Colby in NESCAC Championship Quarterfinals
March 1 - The sixth-seeded Amherst men's hockey team ended its season with an 11-0 loss at sixth-seeded Colby College in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Championship Tournament on Saturday. The White Mules tallied six goals in the first period en route to the victory. With the loss, the Jeffs drop to 7-13-5 overall while Colby advances to the semifinal round and improves to 18-5-1. Men's Hockey Earns Sixth Seed in NESCAC Tourney
February 25 - After finishing the regular season with a 16-1-2 mark, Middlebury College will enter the NESCAC Menís Ice Hockey Championship as the top seed for the third consecutive season. The eight-team tournament will begin on Saturday, March 1. Sixth-seeded Amherst College opens tournament play Saturday at 4 p.m. at third-seeded Colby College. Full Story

Jeffs Finish Regular Season With 5-0 Loss to Colby
February 22 - The Amherst men's hockey team finished its regular season with a 5-0 loss to visiting eighth-ranked Colby College in a NESCAC match-up Saturday at Orr Rink. It was the final regular season home game for seniors Justin Pitrack, Erik DiNardo, Justin Jagher, Jaffrie Perrotti and captain Erich Schram, who have combined for 46 victories over the past four seasons. Jeffs Skate to 4-4 Tie Against 12th-Ranked Bowdoin
February 21 - After a dramatic overtime win at Tufts last weekend, the Amherst men's hockey team skated to a 4-4 tie against visiting 12th-ranked Bowdoin College in a NESCAC match-up at Orr Rink on Friday night. Junior forward Mike Kreger paced the Jeffs with a goal and an assist, while classmate defender John McNicholas and sophomore forward Beau Kretzman each dished out a pair of assists. Full Story

Jeffs Edge Tufts in Overtime, 4-3
February 15 - First-year forward Ted Bickel netted his fourth goal of the season with 1:18 remaining in overtime to give the men's hockey team a 4-3 victory over Tufts University on Saturday. With the victory, the Jeffs improve to 7-11-4 overall and 7-7-3 in NESCAC play, good for sixth place in the conference standings. The top seven teams in league play qualify for the NESCAC Tournament. Jeffs Skate to 1-1 Tie at Conn. College
February 14 - After tying top-ranked Middlebury College, the men's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie at NESCAC foe Connecticut College on Friday. With the tie, the Jeffs move to 6-11-4 overall and 6-7-3 in conference play while the Camels go to 5-12-4 and 3-9-4. Full Story
