Diamond Tabbed IWLCA National Goaltender of the Year
June 12 - Amherst College junior goaltender Brooke Diamond was named the Division III National Goaltender of the Year by the IWLCA earlier this week. Diamond, who helped lead Amherst to a 14-3 record and a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four, was one of four players to earn IWLCA Player of the Year honors, along with the College of New Jersey's Liz O'Connor (attack), Middlebury College's Julia Bergofsky (midfield) and Washington & Lee University's Eloise Priest (defense). Women's Lax, Softball & Baseball Players Earn ECAC All-Region Honors
June 5 - Amherst College placed six student-athletes from three different sports on ECAC Division III New England All-Star Teams this week. From women's lacrosse, senior Cara Coscarelli, junior Abby Ouimet and sophomore Liz Martin were First-Team selections, while softball players Gina Scribner and Lauren Peloquin were named Second-Team and Honorable Mention ECAC All-New England, respectively. Jeffs Place Four on IWLCA All-America Squad
May 22 - Four members of the Amherst College women's lacrosse team - sophomore Liz Martin, juniors Brooke Diamond and Abby Ouimet and senior Cara Coscarelli - were tabbed IWLCA/U.S. Lacrosse Division III All-Americans earlier this week. The third-ranked Jeffs completed their 2002 season with a record of 14-3 overall, after reaching the NCAA Final Four before falling to the College of New Jersey, 10-7, last weekend. Full Story

Jeffs Bow to TCNJ in NCAA Semifinals
May 18 - After downing the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in last year's NCAA Final Four, the Amherst College women's lacrosse team returned to action and fell to the Lions, 10-7, in Saturday afternoon's 2002 NCAA national semifinal game at Rowan University Stadium in Glassboro, New Jersey. Junior attacker Laura Schifter paced the Jeffs with a goal and a pair of assists. Junior midfielder Mary Kate Allen and classmate attacker Erin Beaumont also chipped in with two goals each. Jeffs Set to Face The College of New Jersey in Saturday's Final Four
May 15 - With a 13-6 victory over Union College in Sunday's NCAA Division III national quarterfinal game, the Amherst College women's lacrosse team (14-2) earned its third-ever trip to the NCAA Final Four, becoming the ninth team in school history to reach the national semifinals. Full Story

Six Women's Lax Players Tabbed New England Regional All-Americans
May 15 - Six members of the Amherst College women's lacrosse team, which travels to the NCAA Final Four this weekend, were tabbed Division III New England Regional All-Americans earlier this week, including five first team selections. Full Story

Jeffs Advance to NCAA Final Four With 13-6 Victory Over Union College
May 12 - The third-ranked Amherst women's lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Final Four with a 13-6 win over visiting Union College on Sunday at Hitchcock Field. Sophomore midfielders Jackie Sargent and Liz Martin each tallied four goals to pace the Jeffs. Junior attacker Abby Ouimet also chipped in with three goals and five assists. Full Story

Jeffs Advance to NCAA Regional Final With 15-8 Victory Over Colorado College
May 11 - The third-ranked Amherst women's lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Regional Final with a 15-8 win over visiting Colorado College on Saturday at Hitchcock Field. Sophomore attacker Allison Aldrich paced the Jeffs offensively, notching five goals. Full Story
