2001-02 Amherst Women's Hockey Milestones
TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
*Finished with a 6-15-1 overall record, 4-11-1 in NESCAC play, qualifying for their first-ever postseason berth as the seventh seed in the inaugural NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament (where they were eliminated by Bowdoin College, 4-0, in the first-round).
INDIVIDUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Senior Tri-Captain Hilary Zwerdling (Shrewsbury, MA)
*NESCAC Winter All-Academic.
*Led the Jeffs in assists (7) and defeseman scoring (9 points).
Junior Tri-Captain Goaltender Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN)
*Tabbed U.S. College Hockey Online Women's Defensive Player of the Week on February 8 after recording 32 saves in a 2-1 victory over visiting NESCAC foe Trinity College, and finishing with 47 saves in a 1-1 tie against visiting NESCAC and Little Three-rival Wesleyan University.
*Finished eighth in the NESCAC in goals against average (3.69) and save percentage (.894).
Junior Tri-Captain Forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA)
*Tied for fourth in the NESCAC in game-winning goals (3).
Sophomore Forward Alison White (Brookline, MA)
*Tied for eighth in the NESCAC in power play goals (3).
*Led the Jeffs in point scoring (13), goal scoring (8), power play points (5) and power play goals (3).
