Softball, Women's Lacrosse & Baseball Players Earn ECAC All-Region Honors
June 5 - Amherst College placed six student-athletes from three different sports on ECAC Division III New England All-Star Teams this week, including sophomore first baseman Gina Scribner (Star, ID) and senior pitcher Lauren Peloquin (Berkley, MA), who were named Second-Team and Honorable Mention ECAC All-New England, respectively. Peloquin, Scribner Earn All-NESCAC Honors
May 20 - Amherst College senior hurler Lauren Peloquin and sophomore first baseman Gina Scribner were named to the 2002 All-NESCAC Softball Team after leading the Jeffs to a 17-14 record and a berth in the conference postseason championship tournament. Full Story

Jeffs Eliminated From NESCAC Tournament by Bowdoin, 7-1
May 4 - After falling to Tufts University yesterday, the Amherst softball team returned to action Saturday and were downed by Bowdoin College, 7-1, in the NESCAC Championship Tournament. The Jeffs have now been eliminated from the tournament. Full Story

Jeffs Drop NESCAC Tournament First Round Game to Tufts, 8-0
May 3 - The Amherst softball team dropped their NESCAC Tournament first round game to Tufts University, 8-0, Friday afternoon in Williamstown. The game was stopped in the bottom of the fifth inning due to the mercy rule. Full Story

Jeffs Blank Springfield, 5-0, in Regular Season Finale
May 1 - The Amherst softball team blanked non-league host Springfield College, 5-0, in their regular season finale Wednesday afternoon at Potter Field. Senior hurler Lauren Peloquin was stellar on the mound for the Jeffs, tossing a three-hit shutout, while striking out five. Full Story

Jeffs Set to Travel to Williamstown
April 30 - Williams won seven of eight divisional games to finish first in the NESCAC West Division and earn the right to host the 2002 NESCAC Softball Championship tournament. The Ephs (7-1 division, 23-13 overall) will host the double elimination tournament Friday, May 3-Sunday, May 5. Full Story

Jeffs Drop Doubleheader to Williams
April 27 - The Amherst softball team dropped both games of a twin bill to Williams College Saturday afternoon at Hill Field. Williams junior hurler Kathryn Baldwin tossed a complete-game seven hit shutout as the Ephs took the opener, 3-0. The Jeffs rallied in the sixth inning of game two but came up short as Williams held on for a 4-2 victory. Full Story

Jeffs Drop Twinbill at Tufts
April 24 - The Amherst softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Tufts University. Jumbo senior pitcher Jodie Moreau tossed a three-hit shutout as the hosts won the opening game, 5-0. In the second game, the Jeffs tallied their lone run off a Tufts error and the Jumbos earned the victory, 4-1. Full Story
