14th Ranked Men's Squash Falls to 10th Ranked Penn, 5-4

Junior Carlo Valdesolo had an impressive win defeating his Penn opponent 9-6, 9-2, 9-6
AMHERST, MA - The 14th ranked Amherst College men's squash team fell to visiting 10th ranked University of Pennsylvania, 5-4, on Saturday, despite a trio of impressive wins by juniors Carlo Valdesolo (Andover, MA) and John Holodnak (Wellesley, MA), and first-year phenom Gifford Sommerkamp (Bethesda, MD).

Amherst senior John Brody (Baltimore, MD) also posted a win over Penn No. 6 Jonathan Katz (Arlington, MA), but the Quakers swept the rest of the draw to even their overall record at 4-4. The Jeffs, on the other hand, fell to 3-3 with their third straight loss, all against Ivy League opponents.

First-year Richard Repetto (Margate, NJ) - ranked 10th in the nation according to the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association (NISRA) - paced Penn with a 3-0 win over Amherst No. 1 Michael Strong (Wayne, PA).

Amherst returns to action Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown University.
