Jeffs Drop Pair of Matches at NISRA Championships at Harvard
February 24 - Amherst College ended its season at 7-10 with a pair of losses to Hobart and Bowdoin Colleges at the NISRA Men's Squash Championships, hosted by Harvard University, February 22-24. Playing in the tournament's Hoehn Division (for teams ranked ninth through 16th), the Jeffs dropped Friday's first-round match against Bowdoin, 5-4, setting up a loser's bracket matchup against Hobart on Saturday, which the Jeffs also dropped, 5-4. Jeffs Fall at Third-Ranked Yale, 9-0
February 16 - The 13th-ranked Amherst men's squash team fell at third-ranked Yale University, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon. This marks the second consecutive loss for the Jeffs (7-8). Full Story

Jeffs Take Second Place at Little Three Tournament
February 9 - The 13th-ranked Amherst College men's squash team opened the 2002 Little Three Tournament with a decisive 9-0 win over 19th-ranked Wesleyan University on Saturday. But, the Jeffs couldn't hang on to their momentum for the afternoon match against Williams College, dropping what turned out to be the Little Three title match to the fifth-ranked Ephs, 8-1. Jeffs Fall at Second-Ranked Harvard, 8-1
February 6 - Despite a 3-0 shutout win by David Bauer at the No. 5 position, the 13th-ranked men's squash team fell at second-ranked Harvard University, 8-1, on Wednesday. The loss snapped a two-match winning streak for Amherst (6-6), while Harvard improved to 5-1, rebounding from an 8-1 loss at top-ranked Trinity College on Saturday. Full Story

Men's Squash Sweeps Rochester and Franklin & Marshall
January 26 - The Amherst College men's squash team - ranked 15th in the nation according to the latest NISRA poll - improved to 6-5 with a pair of wins over 26th ranked University of Rochester and 14th ranked Franklin & Marshall College on Friday and Saturday. The Jeffs whitewashed Rochester, 9-0, in the opener, sweeping every match, 3-0. Full Story

Men's Squash Downs M.I.T., Falls to Trinity
January 23 - The 14th-ranked men's squash team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 7-2 win over visiting M.I.T. on Wednesday, before falling to the top-ranked team in the nation, Trinity College, later that evening. M.I.T. presented a challenge at the top of the draw, handing the Jeffs' No. 1 and 2 seeds a pair of early losses. Amherst rebounded by sweeping the rest of the matches, however, with five of their seven victories coming by way of shutout. Full Story

No. 14 Jeffs Fall at 11th-Ranked Brown, 8-1
January 22 - Despite a 3-0 shutout win by first-year phenom Gifford Sommerkamp, the 14th ranked Amherst men's squash team fell at 11th ranked Brown University, 8-1, on Tuesday. The loss was Amherst's fourth straight - all to nationally-ranked Ivy League opponents - while Brown improved to 2-3 after beginning the season with a trio consecutive losses. Full Story

14th Ranked Men's Squash Falls to 10th Ranked Penn, 5-4
January 19 - The 14th ranked Amherst men's squash team fell to visiting 10th ranked University of Pennsylvania, 5-4, on Saturday, despite a trio of impressive wins by juniors Carlo Valdesolo and John Holodnak, and first-year phenom Gifford Sommerkamp. Full Story
