Margolis Tabbed Second-Team All-NESCAC
May 7 - After leading the Amherst men's lacrosse team to the NESCAC Final Four, junior midfielder Matt Margolis was tabbed Second-Team All-NESCAC on Tuesday. He led all Jeff middies in scoring with 19 goals and nine assists this season. Full Story

Jeffs Fall to Middlebury, 16-5, in NESCAC Tournament Semifinals
May 4 - The fourth-seeded Amherst men's lacrosse team was downed by top-seeded host Middlebury College, 16-5, Saturday afternoon at Youngman Field. Junior middie Matt Margolis tallied a goal and an assist to lead Amherst. The Panthers will now move on to the NESCAC Championship game to be played Sunday at noon. Full Story

Men's Lax to Meet Host Middlebury in NESCAC Final Four
May 1 - Top-seeded Middlebury College hosts the semifinals and final of the 2002 NESCAC Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament at Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium with semifinal play on Saturday and the title game on Sunday. Full Story

Jeffs Advance to NESCAC Semifinals After Downing Tufts, 10-7
April 30 - The fourth-seeded Amherst men's lacrosse team advanced to the NESCAC Championship Tournament Semifinals after downing visiting fifth-seeded Tufts University, 10-7, Tuesday afternoon at Hitchcock Field. First-year attackman Alex Casertano paced the Jeffs, tallying a pair of goals and two assists. Full Story

Jeffs Down Williams, 12-8
April 27 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team downed visiting NESCAC and Little Three rival Williams College, 12-8, Saturday at Hitchcock Field. Sophomore attackman Mike Allison paced the Jeffs offensively tallying four goals and an assist. First-years Alex Casertano and Andrew Syfu also each chipped in with a goal and two assists. Jeffs Cruise Past Conn. College, 8-4
April 25 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team cruised past NESCAC foe Connecticut College, 8-4, on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore attackman Mike Allison led the Amherst charge with two goals and an assist, while junior midfielder Tucker Sowers also tacked on a pair of goals for the visitors. Full Story

Jeffs Edge Bates in OT, 8-7
April 21 - After being stunned in overtime yesterday by Bowdoin College, the Amherst College men's lacrosse team returned to action and edged Bates College, 8-7, on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore attackman Craig McBeth tallied a man-up goal 17 seconds into overtime, giving the Jeffs the victory. Full Story

Jeffs Stunned in Overtime by Bowdoin, 10-9
April 20 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team was stunned in overtime by Bowdoin College, 10-9, Saturday afternoon. Junior Ted Scholhamer drove into the offensive zone and fired a shot from inside the box, beating Amherst netminder Cushing Donelan. With the loss, the Jeffs drop to 5-6 on the season, while the Polar Bears move to 8-3. Full Story

Jeffs Down Tufts, 13-7
April 17 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team downed NESCAC foe Tufts University, 13-7, Wednesday afternoon. Jeff senior attackman Harlow Voorhees and first-year teammate Alex Casertano paced the visitors with four goals apeice. Full Story

Jeffs Fall at Little Three Rival Wesleyan, 11-10
April 13 - The Amherst men's lacrosse team fell at Little Three rival Wesleyan University, 11-10, Saturday afternoon. First-year attackman Alex Casertano paced the Jeffs offensively with a trio of goals and three assists. Senior attackman Harlow Voorhees also tallied three goals, raising his team-leading total to 17 on the season. Full Story
