Men Third, Women Fourth in Outdoor Opener at Conn. College
April 3 - The Amherst men's outdoor track team kicked off its season with a blistering run at Saturday's Connecticut College Invitational. Bolstered by six first-place finishes, the Jeff men ended the day in third place, behind the United States Coast Guard Academy and Trinity College. Meanwhile, the Amherst women made their spring debut a memorable one, posting a fourth-place showing behind Coast Guard, Trinity, and the host Camels. Full Story

First-Year Sensation Hamill Earns All-American Honors at NCAA Championships
March 8 - Amherst College first-year sensation Carter Hamill (Richmond, VA) won the 5,000-meter race in a time of 17:11.93 and earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships at Ohio Northern University on Friday evening. This concludes a stellar rookie campaign for her, after shattering previous school records in the 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter, and 5,000-meter events earlier this season. Full Story

First-Year Phenom Hamill To Run At NCAA Championships
March 6 - First-year Carter Hamill will travel to Ohio Northern University in Oxford, OH to represent the Amherst women's indoor track team at the NCAA Championship Meet. Hamill will run in the 5,000-meter race on Friday, after shattering previous school records in the 1,500-meter, 3,000-meter, and 5,000-meter events during her inagural indoor track season. Men's & Women's Indoor Track Compete at ECAC Championships
March 4 - The Amherst women's indoor track team notched a 39-point, fifth-place finish at the ECAC Championships this weekend, highlighted by senior Rebecca Woo and her 2:56.99 win in the 1000-meter run, as well as the 4x800-meter squad's first-place, 9:26.99 showing. Sophomore John Stanton-Geddes paced the men by gathering all five team points on the day with his fourth-place pace in the 1500-meter run. Full Story

Women's Track Team Notches 14th Place at New England Championships
February 24 - The Amherst women's indoor track team came up with a 14th place finish at this weekend's All-New England Championships at Tufts University. Amherst archrivals Wheaton College and Williams College finished the meet in third and ninth places, respectively. Meanwhile, the men's indoor track team traveled to Boston University for their end of the championships, and met with strong resistance in a meet that saw the University of Connecticut take the top spot with 180 points. Indoor Track Teams Post Strong Showings at New England Division III Championships
February 16 - The Amherst College indoor track teams competed in the New England Division III Championships this weekend. At the University of Southern Maine, the women finished the day with 46 points, good for fifth place behind Wheaton College, Williams College, Keene State College and Tufts University. Meanwhile, at Bates College in Lewiston, the men's team notched an 11th-place finish with 19 points. Full Story

Jeffs Post Strong Showings at Smith Invitational
February 9 - The Amherst College men's and women's indoor track teams made their marks at the Smith College Invitational on Saturday, posting several quality times. The individual events gave several Jeffs the opportunity for stellar performances, including postseason-qualifying times and new personal records. Full Story

Indoor Track Takes Third, Sixth at Tufts Invitational
February 2 - The Amherst women's indoor track team took home a strong 88-point, third-place showing at the Tufts University Invitational on Saturday while the Amherst men notched a 52-point, sixth-place finish to round out the weekend. The host Jumbos edged out the women for second place, behind first-place Ithaca College. Tufts also grabbed second place on the men's side, falling just short of Springfield College's 152.50 points on the day. Full Story

Indoor Track Finishes with Six Top Spots at Wesleyan Invitational
January 26 - The Amherst women's indoor track team won four individual events while the men took home two top finishes at the Wesleyan Invitational Saturday afternoon. The women place first individually in different events: junior Kate Hamill in the 800-meter run; sophomore Alyson Venti in the 1000-meter; first-year Carter Hamill in the 1500-meter; and the 4x800-meter relay team. In men's action, sophomore John Stanton-Geddes grabbed the top spot in the 1000-meter run, while the Amherst 4x800 relay team also knotched a victory. Full Story

Women's Indoor Track Wins Brandeis Invitational, Men Third
January 19 - In its second meet of the season, the Amherst women's indoor track team scored 91 points to win the Brandeis Collegiate Invitational by a lopsided margin on Saturday. Second-place Wesleyan University's 65 points fell 26 shy of the champion Jeffs. Meanwhile, Amherst's men finished third behind Bowdoin College and Stonehill. Full Story

Indoor Track Opens With Strong Showing at Tufts Holiday Classic
December 10 - The Amherst College indoor track team tested itself against stiff competition in the season-opening Tufts University Holiday Classic on Saturday. The Jeffs placed well nonetheless, with several Amherst representatives posting strong finishes in their early-season events. Full Story
