Hamill Third in 5,000 Meters at NCAA Outdoor Championships
May 28 - Amherst rookie sensation Carter Hamill finished third overall with a time of 16:56.62 in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, hosted by Macalester College. Hamill who won the event at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March crossed the tape behind first-place finisher Mary Proulx of Keene State College (16:50.52) and runner-up Nicole Cueno of Grinell College (16:54.42). Women's Outdoor Track Notches 20th at New England Championships
May 13 - The Amherst women's outdoor track team finished in 20th place out of a strong 32-team field at last weekend's New England Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northeastern University. Amherst amassed 8 points on the three-day meet. The University of Connecticut came out on top with 134 points, and host Northeastern notched 95 points, good for second place. Full Story

Women's Outdoor Track Grabs 12th at New Englands
May 4 - The Amherst College women's outdoor track team finished in 12th place out of a strong 27-team field at Friday and Saturday's New England Division III Track and Field Championships, hosted by Springfield College. Amherst amassed 29 points on the two-day meet. Williams College came out on top with 163 points, and the host Pride notched 17 points. Full Story

Men's Track Finishes 17th at New England Championships
May 4 - The Amherst men's track team raked in a 17th-place finish at Saturday's New England Division III Championships, hosted by eventual landslide winner Williams College. The Jeffs collected nine team points in all. Full Story

Outdoor Track Places Seventh, Ninth at Conference Championships
April 29 - The Amherst women's squad placed seventh at the NESCAC Outdoor Track and Field 2002 Championships on Saturday at Bates College, while the Jeff men followed up with a ninth-place showing of their own. Meanwhile, Williams College defended its 2001 crown, locking up the seventh championship in nine years for the women, and the tenth in eleven years for the men. Full Story

Outdoor Track Takes Second at Little Three Championships
April 20 - The Amherst men's and women's outdoor track teams each took home second place finishes in the Little Three Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon. Williams College recorded a pair of victories as the women's team recorded 160.50 points, while the men posted 158. Wesleyan University was at the bottom of the pack with a pair of third place finishes. Full Story

April 13 - The Amherst outdoor track team posted several impressive individual times at the Williams Relays, held at Williams College on April 13th, in preparation for a string of postseason championship meets. Full Story

Outdoor Track Excels at Bantam Invite
April 8 - The Amherst men's and women's outdoor track teams made their marks at the Bantam Invitational at Trinity College on Saturday, posting several quality times. The individual events gave several Jeffs the opportunity for stellar performances. Full Story
