AMHERST, MA - After earning New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Hockey Player of the Week honors on Monday, Amherst College first-year forward Beau Kretzman (Edina, MN/Edina) was recognized again on Wednesday as the U.S. College Hockey Online Offensive Player of the Week.

Kretzman helped lead Amherst to a pair of home NESCAC wins on Friday and Saturday, scoring four goals and adding a trio of assists. The victories helped the Jeffs open up a two-point lead on Connecticut College for the seventh and final playoff position in the NESCAC, with one weekend of league play remaining.

The Edina, Minn., rookie notched two goals and an assist, including the game-winner, in Friday's 7-4 win over Conn. College. He then added a pair of goals and two assists the following afternoon in the Jeffs' 8-1 win over Tufts University.

Kretzman now leads Amherst and the NESCAC in scoring with 23 goals and 42 points, and tops the team in assists and power-play goals, with seven.

Amherst (6-11-5/6-7-4) concludes its regular season slate this Friday and Saturday with a pair of conference matchups at Bowdoin and Colby Colleges. The top seven teams in the NESCAC advance to the conference's postseason championship tournament, which begins Saturday, February 23. Middlebury College has clinched the top seed and will host the semifinals and finals on March 2-3. The Jeffs can lock up the seventh and final playoff spot by winning one or tying both games this weekend.
