Kretzman Named New England Hockey Writers ECAC East/NESCAC All-Star
April 1 - Amherst men's hockey first-year forward Beau Kretzman was named to the 2002 New England Hockey Writers ECAC East/NESCAC All-Star Team this week after leading the Jeffs in goals (25), assists (19), and points (44), and to a berth in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament. Kretzman Named NESCAC Rookie of the Year, Second-Team All-NESCAC
February 27 - Amherst men's hockey first-year forward Beau Kretzman (Edina, MN) was named Second-Team All-NESCAC and the conference's Rookie of the Year on Tuesday after leading the Jeffs in goals (25), assists (19), and points (44), and to a berth in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament. Jeffs Edged at Bowdoin, 3-2
February 23 - The Amherst men's hockey team was edged at Bowdoin College, 3-2, in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Championship Tournament on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Jeffs finish the season at 6-14-5 while the Polar Bears improve to 18-3-3 and move on to the NESCAC semifinals. Full Story

Hockey Teams Claim No. 7 Seeds in Respective NESCAC Championship Tournaments
February 19 - The Amherst men's and women's hockey teams each earned the seventh and final seed in their respective NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournaments, with first-round action set to commence on Saturday, when both teams will travel to Brunswick, Maine to take on second-seeded Bowdoin College. The women's game will tip off at 3:30 p.m. with the men to follow at 7 p.m. Full Story

Jeffs Fall at Colby, 4-1
February 16 - The Amherst men's hockey team finished its regular season with a 4-1 defeat at NESCAC rival Colby College (14-6-3/11-5-3 NESCAC) on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Jeffs (6-13-5/6-9-4 NESCAC) clinched the seventh and final spot in the upcoming NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, which begins on Saturday, February 23. Full Story

Jeffs Fall at Bowdoin, 8-2
February 15 - The Bowdoin men's hockey team snapped a two-game losing streak with a lopsided 8-2 win over visiting Amherst on Friday night. The Polar Bears improved to 17-2-3 (14-1-3 NESCAC) on the year, while Amherst fell to 6-12-5 (6-8-4 NESCAC) with the loss. Full Story

Kretzman Earns Second Player of the Week Award
February 13 - After earning NESCAC Men's Hockey Player of the Week honors on Monday, Amherst College first-year forward Beau Kretzman was recognized again on Wednesday as the U.S. College Hockey Online Offensive Player of the Week. Full Story

Kretzman Earns NESCAC Player of the Week Honors
February 11 - First-year forward Beau Kretzman was named the NESCAC Men's Hockey Player of the Week on Monday after leading Amherst to a pair of crucial conference wins over visiting Connecticut College and Tufts University on Friday and Saturday. Kretzman scored four goals and added a trio of assists in the pair of victories and leads the NESCAC with 23 goals and 42 points on the season. Full Story

Jeffs Pound Visiting Tufts, 8-1
February 9 - After skating past visiting Conn. College on Friday night, the Amherst men's hockey team returned to Orr Rink Saturday afternoon for their final regular season home game and pounded NESCAC rival Tufts University, 8-1. Jeff sophomore forward Mike Kreger tallied a hat trick while teammate first-year phenom Beau Kretzman netted a pair of goals and two assists. Full Story
