Men's Golf Takes Second at Little Three Championship
May 3 - The Amherst men's golf team took home second place at the Little Three Championship held at Williams College on Thursday afternoon. The Ephs claimed their fourth consecutive crown, while Wesleyan University finished at the bottom of the pack. Full Story

Men's Golf Plays to Sixth Place at District One Shootout
April 28 - The Amherst men's golf team landed in sixth place at the District One Shootout, hosted by Williams College at the Taconic Golf Club on April 27th and 28th. The host Ephs cruised to a first-place, +19 win in the twelve-team field, followed by Babson College and Husson College. Full Story

Men's Golf at Palamountain Invitational Cancelled
April 22 - After notching the top spot at the Williams Spring Challenge on Sunday, the Amherst men's golf team returned to action Monday for the Palamountain Invitational hosted by Skidmore College. Play was stopped midway through the day due to poor weather conditions. The tournament has now officially been cancelled. Full Story

Men's Golf Takes Williams Spring Challenge
April 21 - The Amherst men's golf team grabbed the top slot out of a field of 13 at the Williams Spring Challenge at Taconic Golf Club on Sunday. The Jeffs shot a combined 305 (+21) to edge the host Ephs who took second place with a score of 308. Full Story

Jeffs Open Spring Slate with Fifth-Place Showing at Mass. Intercollegiate Championships
April 11 - The Amherst men's golf team opened its spring slate with a fifth-place showing at the 29th Annual Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by Bentley College at the par-72 Stow Acres Country Club. Paced by junior Jude Volek, who shot a scorching 36 on the back-nine to finished third individually, the Jeffs shot a team score of 325, placing them just one stroke behind fourth-place finisher Bentley. Men's Golf 12th at NEIGA Championship
October 23 - Coming off a fourth place showing at the Western New England College Invitational on October 12, the Amherst College men's golf team made a strong push at the 67th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship, held Sunday and Monday in Brewster, MA. The Jeffs played to a 631-stroke, 12th place finish in the 46-team field, edging 13th-place NESCAC-rival Williams College by four strokes. Full Story

Men's Golf Ties for Fourth at WNEC Invite
October 12 - The Amherst College men's golf team fired a combined score of 332 to tie for fourth place with Babson College at the Western New England College Invitational, held at the par 72 Veterans Golf Course, on Thursday. Junior Jude Volek led the Jeffs for the second straight tournament, shooting an 80 to finish in a six-way tie for eighth place individually. Full Story

Men's Golf Seventh at Toski Invite
October 8 - Led by junior Jude Volek's eighth place showing, the Amherst men's golf team fired a two-day combined score of 616 to finish seventh overall at the Toski Intercollegiate Invitational at the Hickory Ridge Country Club on Sunday and Monday. Volek tied for the tournament lead with a scorching 71 on Sunday and rebounded with a 78 on Monday to lead the Jeffs individually. Full Story

Men's Golf Places Second in NESCAC Tournament
September 30 - The Amherst men's golf team earned strong performances from Mike Blaisdell (S. Strafford, VT) and Jude Volek (New York, NY) in placing second in the NESCAC Fall Golf Tournament at Taconic Golf Course in Williamstown, Mass. this weekend. The Jeffs two-day total of 623 (309-314) was bested only by first-place finishers Williams who finished at 605 (299-306). Full Story

Men's Golf Poised For 2001 NESCAC Tourney
September 27 - The Amherst men's golf team will seek its first conference title since 1997 at this weekend's NESCAC Men's Golf Championship, hosted by defending champion Williams College, Saturday and Sunday at the Taconic Golf Club. The Jeffs boast the advantage of having played at Taconic last weekend, finishing 14th at the Williams Invitational in their second outing of the fall. Senior captain Mike Blaisdel - a second-team All-NESCAC selection last season - will lead the way for Amherst after pacing the Jeffs in both of this year's fall outings. Full Story

Men's Golf 14th at Williams Invitational
September 23 - Coming off last weekend's ninth-place showing at the Duke Nelson Tournament at Middlebury College, the Amherst College men's golf team traveled west to Williamstown for the Williams Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. All told, the Jeffs placed 14th in a 21-team pool, with a 319-310-629 performance. Host Williams won the tournament, with a 293-290-583 total. Full Story

Men's Golf Ninth at Duke Nelson Tourney
September 16 - The Amherst College men's golf team opened its fall slate with a ninth place showing at the Duke Nelson Tournament, hosted by NESCAC rival Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday. Senior captain Mike Blaisdell (South Strafford, VT) fired a two-day score of 74-81-155 and finished tied for 19th overall to pace the Jeffs. Full Story

2001-02 Men's Golf Season Preview
September 12 - Amherst returns a strong core of experienced golfers who know what it's like to compete for NESCAC supremacy. Behind senior Mike Blaisdell who returns for his second season as captain, the Jeffs will try to improve on their second-place finishes in both the NESCAC championship in the fall, and the Little Three Tournament in the spring.
