AMHERST, MA - After leading the Amherst College baseball team to a 2-1 record, with a pair of wins over NESCAC rivals Trinity and Williams this week, senior second baseman John Brody (Baltimore, MD) was tabbed NESCAC Player of the Week, for the period ending April 28.

Brody combined to hit .636 (7-for-11) with seven runs batted in and two runs scored in the three games played this week. Against Williams, he went 2-for-2 with three RBI's in the opening game of a doubleheader on Saturday, an 8-2 victory for the Jeffs. In the second game, he went 1-for-4 in a 1-0 shutout loss to the Ephs. He finished 4-for-5 with four RBI's in a 16-3 win over the Bantams on Tuesday. He is now ranked fourth on the team with a .296 batting average and is second on the squad with 22 RBI's.

Amherst now 16-14 overall and 6-5 in conference play returns to action Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against visiting non-league foe Springfield College. They will then take on the Ephs again in a game rescheduled for Wednesday, with a time and place still to be determined, and a NESCAC Tournament berth at stake.
