Williams Escapes Once Again
Ephs hold on for 55-53 victory over Jeffs

AMHERST, Massachusetts -- The Williams women's basketball team has a certain knack for beating Amherst by the skin of their teeth. Just like their overtime thriller just weeks ago, the game tonight went down to the last shot before the winner was determined. Leading all the way throughout the contest, the Ephs allowed the Jeffs to slowly inch their way back into contention.

Before anyone knew what was going on, the scoreboard read 55-53 with just over a minute remaining. Amherst had two opportunities to tie the score or take the lead over that minute long stretch, but a traveling call on Katie Hersey and a missed jumper by Crystal Campaigne on the last play of the game spelled the end for the Jeffs.

Amherst had been riding a two-game winning streak that saw them pummel both Trinity and Middlebury. The Jeffs fall to 5-9 while the Ephs raise their record to 14-1.
